From: David Kittner

Dear Friend,

Are you looking to make a difference in children’s lives?  Have you heard the staggering statistics of childhood obesity and are ready to take action?  You have come to the right place.

The problem we have today is that current “Youth Fitness” programs consist of mutually exclusive models such as:

  • Boot Camp style fitness camps, patterned after adult programming
  • Play-based programs lacking focus on skill development or vigor
  • Programs and instructors focused on competitive sports

The FUNction Method provides solution based training that teaches the neuroscience of play with a focus on direct practical application and understanding of what makes kids “tick”.   Additionally, the FUNction Method grows other skills that true change agents need:

  • becoming an advocate for play
  • learning to partner with institutions
  • involving families in play experiences, and much more!

Instructors will not only learn original games and original approaches to not-so-new games, but will also enjoy the experience of playful interaction. We will play, eat, and exchange ideas freely together. We will sweat, reflect, and learn together.

Beginning with our live training, and supported by interactive distance communications, we will learn how to support each other as human beings solving a human problem.

“Science in the lab is one thing, but Kwame has a gift for making it practical, challenging the status quo and inspiring others (and me) to change. It’s not change because I have to, from a negative standpoint, but change because he inspires me to want to.”
Gary Avischious, Founder at Coaching School
“Dr. Kwame M. Brown is a selfless and tireless champion for thousands of young lives. Dr. Brown’s willingness to share his vast knowledge, experience and expertise in the realm of youth development has paid forward an endless stream of more qualified professionals – and by extension reached the lives of countless children.
Dave Gleason, Head Coach/Owner, Athletic Revolution

As a participant in this training experience you will learn how to deliver the complete solution to childhood inactivity and will discover how to foster skill development through the process of Active Play.

We’re so confident this will be the BEST youth fitness workshop you ever attend that if you are at all not satisfied at the end of the event, we will refund your money no questions asked.

Upon completion of the workshop, you will have learned how to
  • Foster skill development within play, instead of trying to pass boring stuff off as fun by using big personalities, famous people, or barking instructions like a drill sergeant.
We learn games, and more importantly, how to tweak those games to keep them fresh and relevant for different age groups and interests. This is not about exercises for kids. This is about what physical activity was originally meant to be -play.
  • Partner with kids to change games, invent new games, and gain valuable movement skill.
The FUNction Method will not tolerate those who refuse to move, and just want to sit back and give kids instructions. You will learn how to meld with the experience of the kids and teens you work with, but remain invisible enough so that it is not about you.
  • Use FUNction Coachable Moments to help kids understand how their bodies can move better.
This is about stepping in, asking strategic questions, giving strategic tips, and stepping out. It is also about looking at skill development as a lifetime thing, not a “6 weeks and you’re all better” thing.
  • Interface with other organizations and each other to provide better infrastructure for Active Play.
Because programs are not nearly as effective if our surroundings tell us not to be active. We will learn how to serve each other as advocates and partners.

Dedicated to your success,
